Fusion Students is bringing forward updated plans for the redevelopment of the former M&S store on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.
Welcome
This website has been created to display Fusion Students’ proposals for the redevelopment of the former Marks & Spencer store on Sauchiehall Street and invite feedback which can shape a future planning application.
Following an initial public consultation on 2nd November, updated plans for the redevelopment of the former Marks & Spencer store on Sauchiehall Street are being brought forward and can be viewed at our upcoming consultation events.
Those interested will be able to view the refined proposals for the prominent site in Glasgow City Centre at our in-person event and online via our virtual exhibition room and live chat event.
Get Involved
As part of our community engagement process, we will be holding a drop in consultation on Thursday 23rd March at the Maldron Hotel (50 Renfrew St, Glasgow G2 3BW) between 2:30 – 7:00pm, while an online interactive chat session will take place between 3:00 – 7:00pm on Tuesday 28th March via this website.
Updated consultation boards will be published to our virtual exhibition room on Thursday 23rd March.
The deadline for comments will remain open until 5th April 2023.
The Site
The site is based in the heart of Glasgow city centre at 172 Sauchiehall Street.
Built on the site of the former M&S Store, the proposed mixed-use development would deliver a range of active uses that will contribute to the long-term vibrancy and regeneration of one of the city’s main thoroughfares.
Within walking distance of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow Caledonian University and Strathclyde University, the site is perfectly located to offer the city’s growing student population a safe and private home away from home, while helping to address the city’s shortfall of purpose-built student accommodation.
